Per The Hill: Feb. 2nd – The Biden administration on Thursday marked the 30th anniversary of the Family and Medical Leave Act by urging expansion of the provisions guaranteed by the law and inviting former President Clinton, who signed it in 1993, to speak at the White House. President Biden was also joined by Vice President Harris to commemorate the signing of the FMLA in the White House’s East Room.
Per CNN: Feb. 2nd – President Joe Biden offered an olive branch to House Speaker Kevin McCarthy on Thursday as he gave an interfaith and bipartisan address to the National Prayer Breakfast, remarks on Capitol Hill that come amid pressing issues including the debt limit, a national conversation on justice and policing and congressional investigations into his administration.
Per ABC: President Joe Biden hit the road again Tuesday as part of a multi-day pitch to Americans on the benefits of the bipartisan infrastructure law passed last year, stopping Tuesday in New York City to tout funding for the Gateway Hudson Tunnel Project. “This is just the beginning,” Biden said, as he described how the law was transforming American infrastructure. “It’s the beginning of finally constructing a 21st century rail system that’s long, long overdue in this country.
Per CBS: Feb. 3rd – President Biden sought to contrast his administration’s accomplishments with House Republicans’ agenda Friday night during the Democratic National Committee’s winter meeting in Philadelphia Friday. The president’s speech came ahead of a DNC vote on the party’s primary calendar, and days before his State of the Union address. The president touted progress during his administration on things like job numbers and infrastructure funding, and reminded people why he ran in 2020.
Per 6ABC: Feb. 3rd – President Joe Biden was in Philadelphia on Friday, making an announcement at the Belmont Water Treatment Plant and later addressing the Democratic National Committee winter meeting in Center City. He announced that the city will receive $500 million in funding for water upgrades and lead service removal, part of an effort to replace all lead pipe services in the country over the next decade.

Obama and Biden were reelected in 2012, defeating the Republican ticket of Mitt Romney and Paul Ryan. During eight years as vice president, Biden leaned on his Senate experience and frequently represented the administration in negotiations with congressional Republicans, including on the Budget Control Act of 2011.
