On June 24, researchers at the University of Kent published a paper and estimated that the virus emerged in China as early as Nov 17, 2019. Coincidentally, this date is the same as the earliest case of CCP virus, a 55-year-old man from Hubei province reported by the CCP last year.
After Australian scientists examined the genomic data of the CCP virus, they found that the virus binds to the human receptor much more easily than other species, suggesting that the virus was already adapted to humans when it first appeared. Did the virus mutate from a human-like intermediate host, or was the virus engineered to adapt to humans?
