Fort Drum, a frigid hellscape located in NY, is making barracks life a little less comfortable for soldiers. How? Well, by removing all energy drinks from vending machines in soldiers quarters. Dirt Bag Private has a few words to say about the importance of caffeine and its place in military personnel’s day. And of course, he has a sham in the works to take advantage of this ridiculous situation.

  1. Man I was stationed up at Ft. Drum with the 2/14th inf and I am sitting here wondering what the hell are they thinking. I see where the cancel culture is leading. It's hitting our military hard. 🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔

  2. I remember pt runs on hood smelled of a combination of sweat producing alcohol and monster energy farts. Sometimes I crack a can and it takes me back. So I pour it out and go get coffee.

  3. We had energy drinks banned specifically Red Bull and monster back in 2007 after we had a few guys pass out during PT, but we were infantry so we actually worked for a living.

I’m surprised it too this long.

  4. I think it’s more of a health thing but they are too stupid to say that. Energy drinks although great for a pick up they don’t hydrate you and actually dehydrate you faster. And because it’s snowing 8 months out the year at Drum they tend to no drink water at all. I seen it. I been there done that. I don’t think it needs to be banned but they need to instruct the importance of hydrating in cold weather climates. This is just lazy. But it’s Fort Drum leadership so I’m not surprised at all.

  5. As a soldier here at fort drum my unit wakes up early as heck for pt, we have an hour to shower , change and squeeze in breakfast, we work a normal day till at least 2100 almost every single day of the week. Put on all kinds of duties on the weekends and on our “4days “so yes an energy drink is the key when you’re exhausted and lifting things all the time.
