NYPD officer shot in Brooklyn; suspect shot twice during shootout: police



Police were responding to a domestic call at a home on Gates Avenue, near Franklin Avenue in Bedford-Stuyvesant, after a woman called 911 about a man breaking her walls just after 8:35 a.m., police said. The officers arrived at about 9 a.m. and were trying to arrest Raheem Joye, 41, for criminal mischief after he allegedly damaged the walls in the home, authorities said. While putting him in handcuffs, the suspect struggled and a gun went off, hitting the officer in the foot, police said.
