RACISM CAN HAPPEN TO ANYONE
A video on Tiktok uploaded by Charles Choi, who is of Korean descent, was at a bar when a woman said “what is this Asian hate?” and claimed that Asian hate doesn’t exist.
The woman who is a nurse, adds on that she doesn’t see the Asian community out protesting, again claiming that Asian hate doesn’t exist. To make things worse, a woke Asian woman who has obviously assimilated into the US ways, sided with woman, saying to Charles “You feel oppressed?”
The Asian community has been protesting since back when the Chinese men helped build the railway, Asians who immigrated into the USA and were targets of racism for being Asian and working hard to fit in the USA and make a living, the Koreatown Riot when blacks targeted Korean immigrants for being successful when they weren’t, and now the Asians being blamed for starting and having coronavirus which isn’t even true, which WHO proved was wrong.
The Asian woman saying that to another Asian was rude since if she didn’t deal with racism, other Asians do deal with it, including attacks, harassment, and even death.
Charles has said he was been the victim of racism, being racially profiled, and that hate speech and hate crimes happening, which is true.
The woman, being stupid, asks ‘Where is the Asian hate?”, and claims it’s a false narrative.
Donald Trump saying the racist and offensive terms China VIrus, Wuhan Virus, and Kung Flu was one of the main causes of the increase of Asian hate.
Stop AAPI reported there have been at least 9,081 reports from May 2020 to June 2021, but there is more since Asians choose not to report to the police much since the police aren’t helpful, and proved by the Chinese Canadian support group in Toronto and Vaughan.
At least over 2 million Asian American adults have experienced harassment, hate crime, or discrimination since the pandemic started.
Many people commented anger over the white woman and Asian woman about the rude and offensive statements they made.
One person mentioned how the woman said she is not white, and referred to the episode in “13 Reasons Why” show where the main character kills herself
A second person mentioned how the Asian woman is not the token Asian friend.
The third person alto talked about the Asian woman as self-hating.
A fourth person talked about the woman who claimed she Is not white, and if she had to say she is a POC (person of color), she isn’t one.
A 5th person said saying that you’re not white doesn’t make the situation better.
The 6th person again commented about the Asian woman, that just because she didn’t feel the Asian hate doesn’t mean others do.
A 7th person said seeing the Asian woman fighting back at Charles Choi made them feel bad since this person is also Asian.
Be proud of your heritage, and being a POC doesn’t change things.
Please report any Asians being targeted with racism physically, verbally, and cyber.
As Korean guitarist and producer Dabin Lee mentioned, people are endorsing Asian culture but not accepting Asian people, and think they have a right to make fun of us for our differences. It’s rude.
