There is less than a week from Biden’s inauguration on January 20th. It will be the first time in American history that the military is deployed so extensively for enforcing security during an inauguration. Army Secretary has approved bringing up to 21,000 National Guard troops to Washington, D.C. on 20th. Currently, Washington DC is under an extensive security lockdown. Concrete barriers blocked many intersections, including parts of Constitution Avenue. Metal fences were installed all around National Mall. Workers are also adding barbed wires on the fencing. This scene is rather ironic to watch.
