AUKUS Deal Frustrates France; Australia to Operate Nuclear Powered Submarines | Clear Perspective



The AUKUS pact between Australia, the UK, and the U.S. granted Australia the ability to operate nuclear-powered submarines. This pact, also known as “Operation Hookless”, introduces a huge military implication in the Indo-Pacific and Taiwan Strait region against the CCP. The UK also sees an opportunity in AUKUS to rebuild itself as “Global Britain”, and the U.S sees it as an opportunity to restore itself as the beacon of democracy in the world, while France was frustrated by Australia’s betrayal.
